Skirt and Phosphate Coatings:
Phosphate coating provides the gray appearance to the piston. This dry lubricant coating provides a lubricating film that protects the piston against scuffing, galling and micro-welding. This dramatically improves piston durability during engine start up and other high-stress piston situations.
