is a
very high quality, sharp, double washed clean
and tightly graded
Blasting
and
Water Jet Media
.
GARNET
is harder than our Glass Abrasive,
but not as hard as Aluminum Oxide.
Therefore, like with Glass Abrasive,
white metal finishes can easily be achieved
on steel without embedment or excessive metal removal,
which can happen with the usage of Aluminum Oxide.
GARNET
will also take hardened steel to a white metal stage
on surfaces Glass Abrasive may not.
We recommend
GARNET
over Glass when it is necessary
to remove very hard and deeply pitted rust, mill scale,
other tough coatings, when profiling hardened steel,
and definitely when water-jet cutting.
GARNET
is also an excellent glass etching media.
Keep in mind,
GARNET
will go farther and last longer than Glass Abrasive,
but it can also be damaging to bearing surfaces
which Glass Abrasive will have little effect upon.
GARNET #150
is a fine fast-cutting blasting abrasive,
leaving a surface profile much smoother than sand or slag medias,
and it effectively recycles many more times than those medias.
GARNET #150WJ:
A very good fine blasting media when something more aggressive than Glass Abrasive is needed, but AO is too aggressive.
Leaves surface profile much smoother than sand or slag medias.
Effectively recycles many more times than sand, slag, or glass medias.
Excellent glass etching medium for finer projects.
Super clean, double washed for virtually no dust.

Excellent in water jet systems.
