Description
As an American History teacher, I displayed many items related to the subject in my classroom. One which I purchased long ago was this fine print of the Andersonville Stockade. The title has the artist's name as I could read it from the print. I purchased this at Andersonville probably back in the 1960's when my parents took me on a Civil War tour. The size is close to 23 inches by 17 inches. It has been in my possession and rolled up protected in plastic wrap ever since. I never did frame this one. I didn't want to remove it from its protective wrap so there may be some glare on the photo. It was very difficult to capture on a photo how complete of an idea this print portrays. The suffering and filthy conditions are evident. There is one unfortunate soldier who stepped across the deadline and paid the price. This can be a very striking addition to your Civil War collection. Now I am retired and downsized so many of these nice items must find a new home. Thank you for looking.
