    Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued on July 1st, 1963 to commemorate the Battle of Gettysburg. The stamp is the third of five that were issued yearly during 1961 - 1965 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Civil War, a truly a sad and divisive time in U.S. history.
The stamp was designed by Roy Gjertson and depicts a Union and Confederate soldier in hand to hand combat during the battle.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the post office almost 60 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift for anyone interested in US military history and is a must have item for every Gettysburg memorabilia collector.
