Bristol Fire Arm Co Rifles RI 1856 Letter Ambrose Burnside Civil War General. Fantastic letter dated Dec 30, 1856 from the Bristol Fire Arm Co in Bristol RI, to the Providence Tool Co. The letter is in regards to a note but some of it is hard to read. Signed “A.E. Burnside, Treas.” Looking at examples of Burnsides handwriting and signature, I believe this was actually written by a secretary or other employee and not written by Burnside himself. Has a small tear at the center edge on the right, and some light wrinkling there as well. Beautiful graphics. Also included is another letter from them to the Providence Tool Co dated 1853 in regards to the thickness of a gun part being off. Written in the same hand as the other letter and is also ‘signed’ AE Burnside Treas. Another paper included is an 1856 bill of sale from the Providence Tool Co to the Bristol Fire Arm Co for a steel die.
