    Description

As my dream car, I bought my Montreal Blue 2.8 in 1998 and drove it on a 24-day cross country adventure, attended the 1998 and 1999 Z3 Homecoming events in Spartanburg, and enjoyed countless top-down jaunts throughout New England.
After 12 years of fun, the engine seized on my way to work one day and it was sold for parts.
Now it’s time to downsize, so I’m selling off the most comprehensive collection of Z3 swag available:
    -
    BMW Z3 Homecoming Swag
    o
    1998:
Picnic blanket, welcome packet, and Northeast convoy maps
    o
    1999:
Insulated picnic bag, welcome packet, and badge
    -
    Signed Owner’s Manual:
In 1999, Burkhard Goeschel was the keynote speaker at the annual Z3 Homecoming event.
Often referred to as “The Father of the Z3”, he led the team that designed the car.
After his talk, he was kind enough to sign the owner’s manuals from a dozen of us that happen to bring them into the event.

    o
9 Annual Brochures: 1996 (both oversized and car show editions) through 2002
    o
    1996 BMW full range brochure
    o
    2000 Anatomy of BMW
    -
    Movies
    o
GO: An American Road Story (VHS) – BMW originally planned to charge for this, but quickly changed their mind; included with this video is the postcard from BMW saying that the video would be free.
    o
The Hire: A series of short films starring Clive Owen.
Also included is a postcard acknowledging my entry in The Hire trivia contest.
    o
BMW CyberDrive: In 1997, when fast internet connections were non-existent, BMW launched a 21-day web-based event including video which would have been impossible for anyone to experience.
To get around this issue, they put all of the video files onto a CD and blended it into their online experience.
While the online content is long gone, you can still watch the videos.
As I remember, the final one is a lap around the Nurburgring.
    -
Z3 New Owner Audio Program (cassette)
    -
Famous Flat Tire Bag: Since the Z3 only had a donut spare and the car’s tires wouldn’t fit in the trunk, BMW thoughtfully included a plastic bag that could be used to store your dirty flat when you put it on your passenger seat – Too bad for the passenger who would have to wait by the side of the road while you went to get it fixed.
I don’t think BMW thought this one through…
