Description
This new product was developed to drastically reduce or eliminate play at the cutter end of the Dremel Flex-Shaft Model 225 handpiece. The Cutter Bearing Cap is a fully machined metal housing and incorporates a high speed ball bearing to guide and support the cutter close to the workpiece.
The elimination of cutter play will allow the user to have a better feel and control.
This is critical when engraving detail, especially on glass.
For 1/8" diameter shank cutters having cutting surfaces equal to or less than 1/8" diameter, simply remove the plastic nose cap on the cutter end of the handpiece, insert cutter into collet, tighten and thread the Cutter Bearing Cap on to the male 1/2-20 thread to finger tight.
If a larger than 1/8" diameter cutting surface is used, with a 1/8' shank, that wont fit through the bearing,
partially thread (half way)
the Cutter Bearing Cap on to the 1/2-20 thread, insert your cutter shank end through the bearing end of the Bearing Cap and into collet.
Align the flats on the knurled collet nut with the flats on the Bearing Cap.
Use a 3/8" open end wrench or small adjustable wrench to turn both at same time. The collet nut will tighten, securing the cutter, before the Bearing Cap bottoms out because of the
partially threaded Bearing Cap
.
After bit is tightened, finish tightening Bearing Cap to finger tight.
