In 2021, Canada celebrates the 100th anniversary of the launch (March 26, 1921) of Bluenose, the beloved schooner that is the pride of Nova Scotia and a beloved Canadian icon! A repeat winner of the International Fishermen’s Race, the world-famous fishing vessel has graced Canada’s 10-cent circulation coin since 1937, and that classic coin design is the inspiration for the 2021 commemorative Bluenose dime, which is twice featured in this set.
Set Highlights:
Contains 7 different coins, each varying in size composed of nickel, steel, brass or bronze.
Certificate and all seven coins are enclosed together in the graphic packaging, which fits perfectly in your uncirculated collector binder.
Obverse: Features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
Reverse: The reverse design by Canadian marine artist Yves Bérubé is double dated (“1921 - 2021”) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the launch of Canada’s most famous ship. The engraved portrait shows Bluenose under full sail and heeled to port on the open ocean, which is painted blue on the colored coin.
