Description
MycoBloom Mycorrhizal inoculaMycoBloom’s easy to use diverse granular mycorrhizal inocula was scientifically formulated by plant-fungal botanists with nursery and field experience. This mycorrhizae helps build strong roots and increase plant access to nutrients for faster growth and healthier plants. Our primary mycorrhizal mixture includes an essential array of seven high-quality endomycorrhizal strains not found in any other products including
Claroideoglomus claroideum
(formerly
Glomus claroideum
),
Funneliformus mosseae
(formerly
Glomus mosseae
),
Cetraspora pellucida, Claroideoglomus lamellosum,
Acaulospora
spinosa,
Racocetra
fulgida
and
Entrophospora infrequens
. MycoBloom’s fungi were originally isolated from pristine prairies in the Midwest. They were chosen for the ability to promote plant growth, nutrient acquisition, and provide tolerance to drought and herbivory stress.
How to Inoculate with MycoBloom Mycorrhizae
We have varied inocula recommendations to meet your planting needs.
Seedlings and Plugs
:
NURSERIES:
Add and thoroughly mix 2.5% of MycoBloom mycorrhizae by volume with growing media and use immediately.
PLUGS
: Inoculate 5-10% by total pot volume for containers less than 400 cm
3
(NU pot 4). Inoculate 2.5-5% by volume for larger pots. Place inocula underneath surface using the sandwich method (right).
BOTH
Inoculate 3-6 weeks before field transplant.
Existing Plantings
Dig 3 small holes around plant and bury 1
Tablespoon
in each hole near plant roots.
Container Gardening
Bury 3 Tablespoons per gallon size of container into the plant rooting zone.
Garden and Flower Beds
Rake or gently till mycorrhizal inocula into garden into the top 1-4 inches of topsoil applying 1 T/square foot. Increase to 2 T per square foot in areas with recent heavy soil disturbance such as tilling or herbicide use.
Additional Information
Storage
Store product dry at room temperatures (40-85° F) until use until best by date. Once mycorrhizae is mixed with growing media, plant immediately.
For maximum benefit
Do not use this product in conjunction with fungicides or high fertilization, especially with phosphorus, as these can harm mycorrhizae.
Usage
See our application suggestions on the right for proper usage. Our application suggestions were derived from years of experience in native plant restoration and organic growing. We have identified several application methods that do not work with mycorrhizal applications. Broadcasting,
overseeding
, and soil drench applications are not recommended because they leave inocula on the soil surface where it can dry and be solarized by the sun. Seed coating and seed ball application methods are not recommended as mycorrhizal spores are quite large for microorganisms and are unlikely to stick well to seeds.
Terms of Use
MycoBloom inocula is intended for individual use. MycoBloom does not grant permission for these fungi to be propagated, resold as inocula, or used in any research applications without the written consent of MycoBloom LLC.
